All students will be asked to make their own way to Youth Challenge in the morning.
The bus routes that pass the school include the 526 & 527. These buses make their way up Smithills Dean Road and stop just before or just after the school gates.
At the end of the school day we will provide transport to the town centre only dependent upon staff availability. Please ensure that your child has the correct funds or passes available daily should this not be possible.
To support families, we have explored a number of different options of support to gain bus passes. Please review the options below and contact us if you require the paperwork in order to pursue any of these avenues. Applications are from Bolton Council and not us so must be completed by parents; however, we are more than happy to support with these if required.
- All students who have an EHCP are entitled to a free bus pass via the Local Authority. Please contact us to request the paperwork for this.
- Children who cannot travel independently can apply for assisted travel and may be allocated a seat on a council vehicle, or provided with a personal budget to support with travel expenses. Please contact us to request the paperwork for this.
- If you are in receipt of certain benefits and your child travels more than 3 miles to school then they may be eligible for a free school bus pass. Please contact us to request the paperwork for this.
If you need support or have any questions, please feel free to ring the school office on 01204 333872 and ask for Miss Victoria Sutton (Academy Lead).
